Terms of Service

Effective October 14, 2026 · Version terms-2026-10-14

About Pet E-Dex

These Terms govern Pet E-Dex at petedex.com, operated by Corie Jean Allen, an Illinois sole proprietor operating under the name Pet E-Dex. The public business mailing address is 2565 Bluff Drive, Kankakee, IL 60901, United States. Contact info@petedex.com or that mailing address.

Pet E-Dex is in prelaunch preparation. New beta enrollment remains closed. Publishing these policies does not open registration or activate in-app support. Support access, account-deletion operations and coordinated backup recovery are still being completed and verified; this notice does not represent those operations as fully ready. These limits do not postpone applicable privacy or incident duties.

Eligibility and Account Responsibilities

The limited beta is for invited adults at least 18 years old living in the United States. Provide accurate account information, verify your email, protect your credentials and use your own authorized account. Report suspected unauthorized use to support. An invitation to help with animals grants only its stated scope/period. Age confirmation does not require a full date of birth.

New beta enrollment is currently closed. When it opens, admission will check the currently verified email against the approved invitation list. An existing account’s identity and access remain subject to its original sign-in association, account status and household permissions; removing an email from the admission list alone does not revoke an existing account or caregiver grant. Existing users must affirmatively review and accept these Terms; earlier use is not an acceptance record.

Acceptable Use

Use only information, animals and accounts you are authorized to manage. Do not bypass access controls, impersonate others, access another household's private information, upload unlawful or malicious material, distribute invitation secrets beyond intended recipients or disrupt the service. Respect applicable law, privacy and intellectual-property rights.

Report a suspected vulnerability privately to info@petedex.com with a general description and the minimum information needed to identify it. Do not include other people's private records, passwords or tokens. Stop testing if it would access private information or disrupt care. This reporting route does not authorize intrusive testing, create a bug-bounty payment or promise legal immunity.

User Content and Necessary Service Permissions

You retain your rights in records, photographs and other content you provide. You are responsible for your authority to provide/share it and for checking its accuracy.

You grant Corie Jean Allen, as operator of Pet E-Dex, a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display that content only as needed to operate the service for you, provide requested exports and support, make necessary backups, and carry out sharing you authorize. Service providers may exercise this permission only to perform their service functions for Pet E-Dex, subject to their applicable contracts. Processing may occur where those providers operate, as described in the Privacy Policy.

This permission does not transfer ownership, grant unrelated marketing rights, authorize selling customers' personal information or sharing it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising, or authorize training AI models on customer records, animal medical information, photographs, uploads or other customer-submitted content. It continues only while the content is needed for the stated service purposes, including any retention explained in the Privacy Policy after an account closes. It does not permit keeping everything indefinitely. Another household may retain its legitimate care history after a contributor's access ends, subject to applicable privacy rights and reviewed corrections.

Contacts, login identities, care directions and reported outcomes remain distinct; saved contacts grant no access.

Caregiver Access and Care Records

Review the invited caregiver, animals and dates, and end access when no longer appropriate. Caregivers must remain within their grant and accurately report their own care. Do not share a login to substitute for an invitation. Recorded care remains in the owning household's history after access ends; copies already obtained cannot be recalled through revocation.

Separately shared care summaries contain only the sections selected when the snapshot is created. Review the recipient, contents and expiry; a snapshot may become out of date and grants no general household membership. A caregiver grant and a care-summary share are different permissions.

Pet E-Dex presents human-provided directions and records what people report. Saving instructions, viewing a task, elapsed time or acknowledging an alert does not prove care occurred. Verify the correct animal, directions and restrictions; use reviewed corrections for mistakes. The app does not guarantee medication administration, prevent all missed care or ensure animal safety.

Veterinary and Emergency Limitations

Pet E-Dex is a recordkeeping and animal-care organization tool, not a veterinary provider. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment or replace professional veterinary advice. For a medical emergency, contact your veterinarian or an appropriate emergency veterinary service. Do not wait for app support or a notification. In-app appointment reminders do not promise background push, email or text reminders.

Beta Availability and Support

The beta can contain errors, incomplete features or interruptions. Continuous or uninterrupted service is not guaranteed. Maintain another accessible copy of critical care directions. Send problems, improvement suggestions and support questions to info@petedex.com or the mailing address in these Terms. The in-app feedback form is not yet accepting reports. When enabled, it saves a report to a restricted support inbox; it does not itself email the operator or send an emergency alert.

We may improve or change beta features. For a planned permanent end of the service or a material reduction that prevents access to saved records, we will give reasonable advance notice and an opportunity to obtain an available copy, except where urgent security needs or legal restrictions prevent that timing. The notice will identify the planned date, the access affected, the available export method and the period in which to obtain a copy. Where lawful and safe, users who cannot complete the available export can contact support for an appropriate assisted copy. The urgent exception does not remove privacy rights or excuse avoidable data loss. A shutdown notice does not shorten an existing retention or account-exit commitment, and a beta change does not authorize a charge.

Corie Jean Allen, operating as Pet E-Dex, is the primary support and privacy contact at info@petedex.com, or by mail at 2565 Bluff Drive, Kankakee, IL 60901, United States. The planned monitoring schedule is every business day, Monday–Friday; support setup is still being completed during prelaunch, and reliable email replies are not yet confirmed. The internal support inbox will follow that schedule once enabled and accessible to the authorized operator. No backup operator is currently appointed. Support is not monitored continuously, on weekends or during holidays, and no response time or service-level agreement is guaranteed. Pet E-Dex does not provide emergency veterinary or animal-care assistance. Ordinary support coverage does not extend applicable privacy or incident deadlines.

Free Beta and Future Pricing

Beta is free. Joining does not authorize a charge, and payment information is not required. Before any future paid subscription, users must see the plan, price, billing interval, renewal/cancellation terms and applicable fees and explicitly choose whether to subscribe. There is no automatic conversion to paid service. Accounts, IDs, saved records and files enrolled in the approved beta carry forward into launch. Ending the beta or introducing paid plans will not itself require replacement registration or a reset of those records. Account deletion, applicable retention rules and the service limitations described in these Terms still apply.

Choosing not to buy a future subscription does not itself authorize a charge or an immediate deletion of your records. Before introducing paid plans, we will explain the available access/export options and give the required notices. Free-account inactivity and requested deletion continue to follow the published retention policy; the 12-month post-paid-access period is not a promise of 12 free months of every feature to a person who has never subscribed.

Suspension, Termination and Deletion

You may stop use, end caregiver access and use My Account → Your data for own-household export or deletion requests. Signing out is not deletion. Removal requires identity/ownership review and follows the Privacy and Data Retention policies, including separate live-data and retained-copy processes and shared-history limits. Inactivity/subscription notices do not restart a requested-deletion deadline. A downloadable account export is a portable copy, not a complete service backup. No particular restoration time or recoverable history window is promised.

We may limit or suspend affected access when reasonably necessary to address a compromised account, unlawful use, a violation of these Terms or a serious threat to the service or another person's information. Restrictions should be proportionate to the issue. Where safe and lawful, we will explain the reason and how to ask for review at info@petedex.com. We may act before giving notice when delay would create a security risk or the law prevents advance notice. We will review a challenge and restore the affected access when the restriction is no longer justified, provided the account remains otherwise eligible and the person still has the necessary permission. Where safe and lawful, we will explain any separate reason access remains restricted.

Suspension does not automatically authorize permanent deletion. Where lawful and safe, we will arrange an appropriate data-copy or deletion-request route after verifying authority; a suspended sign-in may require assistance by email. Legitimate care history in another household is handled separately. Revoking access cannot retrieve copies already downloaded by an authorized recipient.

Only provisions that remain necessary after closure continue, including permitted retention/use of remaining content, ownership rights and applicable remedies. This is not permission to continue unrelated use of deleted content.

Intellectual Property

While you are eligible and comply with these Terms, the operator permits you to access Pet E-Dex for its intended animal-record and caregiver-coordination purposes, subject to the access actually granted to your account. This permission is limited, nonexclusive and nontransferable; it does not give you ownership of the app, its branding or other users' content. It does not transfer your own content to the operator.

Software, artwork and other service materials may include third-party components that remain governed by their applicable licenses. These Terms do not remove rights those licenses independently give you. Pet E-Dex is a trade name; no registered trademark or exclusive right in every component is claimed here.

Service Limitations and Legal Rights

Pet E-Dex helps organize human-provided animal-care information and reported work. It does not supply veterinary care or guarantee a particular care outcome, continuous availability, or that every error will be detected. The beta limitations above describe the service; they do not negate an express commitment made in these Terms or the Privacy Policy.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights, remedies or responsibilities that applicable law does not allow to be limited. These Terms do not impose a dollar liability cap, require arbitration, waive class proceedings, shorten a statutory claim period or require users to indemnify the operator. Applicable law governs any claim not otherwise resolved.

Updates and Contact

New versions will carry an effective date and prior published text will remain available. We will explain material changes before they take effect through the app and, where appropriate or legally required, an account contact channel. Urgent legal or security changes may need earlier action with notice as soon as reasonably possible.

The app requires affirmative review of each newly active policy bundle. If you decline, ordinary app use may stop, but the eligible account-data, export, deletion-request and support routes remain available subject to authentication and access checks. You may sign out or request help. Continued use of an old tab is not automatic acceptance. A Privacy acknowledgment does not replace any separate consent the law requires.

Publishing a revised policy or requiring acknowledgment of a new policy bundle does not itself authorize a new use of information already collected. We will honor the privacy commitments made when we collected that information and obtain any separate consent required for a proposed change. The content permission in these Terms does not authorize customer-content AI training, personal-information sales or targeted-advertising sharing.
